Spiced Up!

After an hour of playing with my blog I finally have made it festive! Everything around me was festive, except for my blog... I am not 100% happy with it. I would really like to change the way my title looks and put a banner, but I have NO idea how to do it. If anyone knows how to fix it, please leave me a comment to help me, I would appreciate it!

To all those who would like to see a belly picture I promise, I will post one soon, but I am not to excited about it! I think I just look fat right now. In two week I go to see Dr. Klein for my 16 week check up and then on December 30th.... We are going to know if it is Baby Girl or Baby Boy Sunday. My friend "J" did the "ring test" on me and it said I was having a girl??? Who knows, some of our friends say boy and others think girl....all I know is I am sooo excited to find out because then I can start shopping and finalize the name!!! I know most of you have not seen me or my belly, but I WILL post a picture and then we will have to take a poll and see who is right!!!

This week Kyle turns the BIG 3-0!!! I am excited because he thinks I have not bought him anything...and he is way wrong. I will tell y'all later what it is, just in case he read this posting.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week and Merry Christmas shopping!

Thankful!!

Kyle and I have so much to be thankful for this year! We have each other, wonderful family and friends, a beautiful home and a gift that God has given us. We thank the Lord daily for finally being pregnant and giving us such a special gift! The baby is doing great, and growing like a weed! I am 13 weeks today and was told the baby was the size of a medium shrimp and approximately 3 inches long. I feel like I am already getting big, but Kyle thinks differently. But we are sooooo excited and we find out the gender on 12/30/09!!! YEA!!
I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, there is so much to be thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

Love, Andrea

Baby Sunday Update

I finally learn how to use Kyle's scanner and was able to post all of the ultrasound picture we have had!!! The first on is at 6 weeks and 0 days, when we first saw our bundle of JOY and had the heart beat for the first time.

6 weeks and 0 days
The next picture is at 8 weeks and 5 days! This was "graduation day" from the fertility specialist, Dr. Valdes. A bittersweet kind of day, Kyle and I have grown to love everyone in the office so much. It is so nice when you walk into the office and you are the last patient in a LONG line waiting to be checked in. Then they see me and say...."Mrs. Sunday, go ahead to the back." My nurse was so help for the past 10 months and Dr. Valdes is a WONDERFUL doctor!!!! But it is an AWESOME thing that I am finally able to see an OB-GYN for a pregnancy and NOT just of a well women exam! At this appointment I was also able to stop taking some of the medication that was necessary for IVF. I was taking 5 medication a day and now I am only taking 2, my thyroid medication and a simple pre-natal vitamin!!! So now I do not have to carry that stupid pill box around with me!!! YEA for that! We also were able to hear the heart beat again and it was a RAPID 170 beats per minute!!!
8 weeks and 5 days!!
The next picture is my very first ultrasound with my OB-GYN, Dr. Klein!!! The picture is not that good, because it was on his portable ultrasound machine. But we saw the baby move for the very first time!! It was wonderful seeing the baby move 2 arms and 2 legs! I feel so lucky to be doing so well. At this appointment I also was sick. For the past week I have had a horrible cough and congestion. I even had to stay home from work for a few days. Being pregnant and sick really takes it out of you..I had no clue.

10 weeks and 0 days!!

Overall, I am feeling pretty good. I have not thrown up yet but I do get nauseated throughout the day, off and on. I will start keeping everyone more up date on Baby Sunday 2010, now that I can use the scanner with no problems...I might even start participating in "Flashback Fridays!" I have some very fun pictures from a long, long time ago!

Love, Redmama....that is what Kyle has called me as long as I can remember!

One picture says it all!!!

I'm PREGNANT!!!!!
Well, I have known for about 2 weeks now!! I know, I know, I should have said something earlier, but I just was waiting for the right time. Last week Kyle and I went for the ultrasound, I was 6 weeks and 0 days. We saw and HEARD the heartbeat!!! It was the most beautiful sound that I never thought i would get to hear! God really does answer prayers. It is still really early, but I am feeling great. I have really nothing to complain about. Sometime I start to feel BIG and BLOATED and that makes me nauseated!!! Another than that nothing!! We go back for another ultrasound in 2 weeks and then I am going to be released to my new OB-GYN. I switched doctors because this one is much closer to the casa and Kyle's business. So soon we will not have to drive the Texas Medical Center anymore!!!!! YEA!!!!
I will keep everyone posted on what's going on...and just so everyone knows who reads my blog...I am not going to announce this on facebook just yet... I feel the ones who read my blog WANT to know what is going on...and I am just not ready to tell the 300+ friends on facebook until I am further along!
Hope everyone has a WONDERFUL day!!
Love, Andrea

2 week wait...

one of the hardest things I have done....I was a Kilgore College Rangerette, high kicking in 100 degree...which seems so easy now compared to this!!

In nurse school they teach us about this feeling you get when you know something is going to happen...it is called impending doom. And I guess this is how I feel right now (like something bad is going to happen)...I don't know why, I am trying so hard to keep a positive attitude, I know things happen for a reason, I pray all the time. I pray to Mother Mary, I pray to the Lord, I thank God for all of the wonderful things and blessings in my life, and I know what is going to happen, will happen, what is done, is done....but

THIS WAITING REALLY SUCKS!!!

Of course, when I am sitting at work, I google every little symptom I have. I even had to call the nurse about one thing...one funny thing we talk about, I told her that I really don't feel pregnant, and she said, "if I had a crystal ball for every time someone told me that and they were pregnant and then when people say they have every symptom of pregnancy and they were not pregnant, I would be rich!" I guess that made me feel a little better... I am just getting impatient. Kyle is out of town this weekend in Washington D.C., playing golf with his sister. But the will be back early Sunday morning. So until then I am sitting by myself thinking about everything...I need something that is really going to take my mine off of this...any suggestions? So, I guess I am done venting! And no, it really did not make me feel any better.

But, I do love God and trust in Him that he has a plan. I just wish I knew what it was and I would calm down a bit!Thank you to all for listening to me and I hope you have a wonderful weekend and Happy Friday!

Love,
Andrea

The Blastocyst...

where transferred successfully to me on Tuesday. Dr. Valdes seemed to be SUPER excited about the cell division of the blastocyst (embryos). She kept going on and on about how beautiful they were and how they were ready from a new home. She transferred 2 "beautiful blastocyst" to my uterus and when she was done transferring them she said, "OK...we will see you two beautiful blastocyst in 8 1/2 months." Kyle and I both laugh! Then next day I talk to my nurse Gloria and she reported to me that 4 embryos where frozen. Then I told her about how excited Dr. Valdes got about my blastocyst. Gloria told me, that she never says anything that she DOES NOT mean, and they my blastocyst did look really, really good. So I have been at home since the transfer taking it easy. (trying not to get to excited!!!)

Lots of things are going on at my house this week. Kyle's parents have been in town, which has been very nice. I am very lucky to be blessed with such WONDERFUL in-laws. My mother-in-law has done very bit of my laundry and will not let me lift a finger. And my father-in-law is putting the finishing touch on Kyle's newly remodeled office (which is pretty much in our backyard). The tile floor was completed today and looks really good! So, Kyle's business will be out of the house before I know it!!!! YEA for that!

I will keep everyone posted on everything that is going on. I tryed to scan in a picture of my blastocyst, but it will not download. So sorry for no pictures. Kyle and I should find out in about 2 weeks what the status of my blastocyst is...and I will let ya'll know! Until then....

XOXO,
Andrea

EGGS RETRIEVED!!!

Me in Recovery

Last Thursday I had the egg retrieval! All went well! But I did not feel to well for a few days after, so it has taken me a few days to let everyone know what happened!!! We arrived at 0730, and was whisked right into the procedure room, were they started my IV and I waited. You know..it's hurry, hurry, hurry to wait, wait wait! hehe! Kyle did not get to join me while in the procedure room...because he was doing his own business! Then my wonderful doctor came in and started ASAP!!! I remember waking up a bit in the procedure, but she gave me a few more IV margaritas and I was good to go! After the procedure was over, I woke up and Kyle was right by my side!!! It was so sweet and nice...the first thing I immediately asked was.....HOW MANY DID THEY GET??? He said 19-20 mature follicles is what Dr. V said!! I was so excited! So then we went home and I slept the rest of the day. Friday my nurse G called and told me, they really retrieved 24 follicles and 16 FERTILIZED!! She called me an "egg producing machine!!!"
Well, today I talked to nurse G again and she said they (the embryos) are doing GREAT and moving right along!! So tomorrow we will go and Dr. V will transfer the "blastocyst" (remember back to biology and cell division...my favorite topic) back into me. Then I am on pretty much bed rest for the next couple of days....But I am definitely going to take it easy because I WANT THIS TO WORK!!!! So I will be hanging out doing nothing.

I will let y'all know how we are doing ASAP. I just want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for there kind thought and prayers! I love it when you ASK question and want to know what is going on with me and Kyle and this process! I know that when you, ask YOU CARE!! And that is the most important thing to me! I am so lucky to have people care the way y'all do! I love you all so much!

Love from the bottom of my heart,
Andrea

Stimulated Baby!!!

I went to the doctor this morning and after the ultrasound tech left the room, I quickly grabbed my phone and took a picture of the screen!!! The numbers next to the words "Rt Ovary" and "Lt Ovary" are all of my EGGS!!! That right count'em up!! There are allmost 30 oocytes!!! So the nurse call me and told me to stop one of the injection and they will see me on Tuesday for another ultrasound!!! So we are getting close to the egg retrievial!! YEA!!! There is only one bad thing about this...I feel like I am holding a ton of rocks in my lower abdomen, which is making me very crampy. But I am willing to do whatever as you all know!

Hope everyone is having a great wekend...I am back to work tomorrow... :( oh the life of a nurse!

Let the fun begin...

Hello everyone!

I just want y'all to know, the In Vitro process has begun! To keep everyone updated on the process on in vitro, last month I start taking birth control pills and 1 injection in the middle of the month everyday to depress all of my hormones. And last week I started injection to "BOOST" all of my hormones, so I am able to produce lots of eggs!!! I have been giving myself 3 injection a day. At first it did not bother me one bit, but a few days ago I starting having bruising at my injection sites (abdomen)ouch!!! So now I have rotated my injection site to my outer thighs. The injections still hurt in the thighs, but I will live with it to get a BEAUTIFUL result in the end!!!! So this week I have been going to the doctor in the medical center every other day and having lab work and ultrasound done. Yesterday I had 9-11 folices...which is very good. I will return tomorrow and Sunday for more ultrasounds and blood work, and on Friday I will speaking to Dr. Valdes about my progress and when we are going to schedule the egg retrieval. I will be sometime next week. Kyle will have to come with me because I am having "IV margaritas" or in medical terms, moderation sedation...and will not be able to drive home! Then they will fertilize Kyle's "swimmers" with my eggs and 3-5 days later they will be implanted in me!!! And that how I think the process is going to go...But I will make sure I keep y'all update!

Sorry for no pictures with the post again, but Kyle has the camera this weekend in Port O Connor fishing...so sorry, I know the blog is so boring without any pics!! I will put some up when he gets home. I have lots of pictures to post because last weekend we took a trip to Georgia to see my cousin Trammell get married!!! Lots of fun and lots of great picture to show everyone!!

Everyone have a great weekend!!

XOXO,
Andrea

Try, try again

Since I started this blog to tell about our journey in infertility, I guess I should give everyone an update....Well, last month Kyle and I decided to go back to the doctor after 3 months good old fashion, trying on our own. It was so nice to just take a break and relax from all of the nerves that come with infertility.

I know some of you are not going to agree with what Kyle and I have decided in our journey, but when you ask a specialist "can I get pregnant on my own?" and she says, " there is about a 90% to 95% chance that it will not happen on our own." It hurts but then there is things out there to help us succeed in our journey. (So why not try) I use to be one of whose people who would tell others, just relax, stop trying and you will get pregnant, whatever...I am soooo sorry for ever telling anyone that. Listen up peeps....IT'S NOT THAT EASY!!!!! I promise you that you don't know what it is like until you are walking in my shoes.

So, last month I started using injectible medication called FSH (a medication to help me increase my egg production) I took it for only 7 days, because I was hyper stimulating (making way too many eggs). So we stopped taking the medications and by ultrasound (US) I had 2 mature eggs and about 9 unmature eggs. I then took the "trigger shot", it is the medication that helps me ovulate (since I was diagnosed PCOS I don't ovulate). So we had IUI (intrauterine insemination), waited 2 weeks and was unsuccessful. A BIG FAT NEGATIVE or BFN!!

So last Thursday, I met with Dr. Valdes for my follow-up visit. Kyle was not able to go due to his business being so busy, which is wonderful thing. Dr. Valdes informed me about the hyper stimulation and that she almost had to cancel the procedure.... So, she said the best thing for me because I responded so well to the FSH (the med that helps me increase my production of eggs) and she does not want to be making headlines news with Kyle and Andrea + 8, hehe. She would like a more controlled environment, so she recommended invitro fertilization or IVF. Kyle was on the speaker phone while Dr. Valdes was explaining why she recommend this procedure, but in the end it us our final decision on what we wanted to do IVF.

IVF is a 2 month process. I am excited and really nervous all at the same time. I was also reading and blog stalking on the net about the "Power of Positive Thinking" So, instead of saying if we have kids or get pregnant...I am going to start saying, WHEN we have kids. I am really trying to be more positive, and not dwell on the past and look towards a beautiful and bright future with Kyle and our family. I will keep you posted. For some reason... I just was not ready for the world to know what was going on but I am...well, at least up until this point.

Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers! I truly am blessed that people care so much.

Andrea

FISHING FUN!!!

This past weekend Kyle and I went fishing with Will, Jen, Taylor, and Bri. We had sooo much fun. First we all went to Academy and had to get our fishing gear...yes us girl included! We were all in our Columbia PFG fishing shirts. Jen asked Kyle if PFG stood for "Pretty Fine Gal"..hehe, he said no, it is "performance fishing gear" but I think we might change it! We all had a great time! Kyle is the only one who caught anything good. I caught 2 sting rays, a hammer head, and a croaker. If I remember correctly Taylor and Jen caught 4 croaker and a hammer head, and Bri caught a few croaker and a baby flounder. Kyle had the largest catch of the day, with a 26.5" Redfish!!! Poor Will did not catch anything and was stuck in the boat with us ladies while Kyle was wade fishing. He was busy constantly baiting our hooks and taking our fish off the hook!
We had a ton of fun fishing and I cannot wait to be able to go again soon! Kyle is working as much as he can on fixing his boat, so hopfully soon we will be going fishing in our boat! I cannot wait!!!

Crazy Weekend with Birthday Parties Galore!

This was supposed to be post on Memorial Weekend!

I know, I know...I am not very good at this blog thing... it has taken me forever to give ya'll some new fun pictures. Since Rangerettes I have been slacking in the taking pictures department. The camera went everywhere with me...well I need to start taking it with me more often because it just gets left behind or it is in the bottomless pit...a.k.a. my purse!

Just a little update on life. Kyle and I are doing great with the business, it is starting to take off. With my job at UTMB I have been off week, YEA!!! But I have been working for Sun Surveying helping out Kyle!! On the baby front, we are still taking our break which has been very nice and relaxing!!! Especially after 3 let downs with the IUI!! We haven't decide when to go back to Dr. Valdes, our infertility doctor, but it is nice just enjoying life.

This past weekend was extremely busy for the Sunday's!! Kyle played in a softball tournament on Friday night until 2am, then was on the move at 10am to help setup and cook crawfish for the 30th birthday bash for Will and Danny!!! While Kyle was playing softball, I stayed at home to clean the house, make Red Slush Punch and at Will's request, Black Bean Salsa...which seems to be every ones favorite dip. We were all worried about the rain on Saturday, but by 1:30pm it was HOT and SUNNY!!! Will was so nice because the pool was quite chilly (81 degrees) so he warmed it to 88 degrees for us girls and it was nice and refreshing!! A big THANK YOU to the birthday boy for doing that! We had so much fun with all our friend like we usually do!!! Happy Birthday to the boys again!!

On Sunday we head to Sugarland for my Uncle Gregory's birthday party. After the rain passed it was a very nice day. I always like going over there because they have a great pool, and I love hanging out with my family! My niece Lexi went swimming and she was too cute, she just loves the water. My uncle made some yummy hamburgers and my Aunt Gina made one of my favorite dips, 7 layer dip...yummy!!!! So here are some pictures of all the fun!

4 years already!

Pictures in honor of our anniversary!

Our Engagement photo

I cannot believe today is our 4 year wedding anniversary! Time really does fly by and it is just going to go by even faster. Kyle and I are going to keep it simple this year, with the new company we are trying to save money...so no gifts. Just a really yummy dinner and being together! Kyle took the day off to hang out with me and I think that is the best gift! Since he started Sun Surveying, he has not had a day off...so need less to say I was SUPER EXCITED!! Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

I Finally Did It!

Well, I guess I have jumped on the ban wagon. I joined because I love reading my friends blogs. Some of my friends who are on here, I lived with for 2 years and now I feel very close to them being able to see what is going on with their families!

This is also going to be a way for me to write about what is going on with my crazy roller coaster of a life. I do not know how well I am going to do keeping up with this stuff but I am going to try!
